KNOW WHICH BEHAVIORS PUT YOU AT RISK

Risk of HIV infection: Anal Receptive > Ana Insertive > vaginal > oral sex

HIV can be transmitted by blood, semen, vaginal fluid, and breast milk.

In Rhode Island, HIV is most commonly transmitted by sex (anal or vaginal). “Anal receptive” is the highest risk and means having someone’s penis in your butt. “Anal insertive” means putting your penis in someone else’s butt. HIV is also transmitted by drug users who share needles.
